Measurements of axial and peripheral anterior chamber depth: accuracy of a photographic method.

چکیده
The minimum significant (p = 0.05 level) detectable change noted on measuring anterior chamber depth by a photographic method was found to be 7% either way from the mean. The minimum significant change for a peripheral chamber depth 5 mm from the optic axis was found to be 25% either way.

The Biometric Values of Affected and Fellow Eyes in Patients with Acute Attack of Primary Angle Closure
Background: It has been estimated that 67 million people worldwide are affected with a primary glaucoma and that one-third have primary angle closure glaucoma. We aimed to determine the biometric differences between the eyes of patients with acute attack of primary angle closure and their non-involved fellow eyes. Methods: Twenty eight patients with acute attack of primary angle closure were re...
متن کاملThe effect of Ramadan fasting on micronutrients and their relationship with the ocular axial length and anterior chamber depth
Introduction: The present study aimed to assess the effects of Ramadan fasting on micronutrients and their correlations with ocular biometry. Methods: This prospective study was conducted on 89 healthy volunteers (51 males and 38 females) with the mean of 34.98±9.10 years in Mashhad, Iran. Participants received complete ophthalmic and systemic examinations one week before and one week after the...
متن کاملAgreement and relationship between ultrasonic and partial coherence interferometry measurements of axial length and anterior chamber depth
PURPOSE To find the relationship between axial length (AL) and anterior chamber depth (ACD) measurements, using partial coherence interferometry (PCI) and A-scan ultrasonography (US). SETTING National Eye Hospital, Cairo, Egypt. METHOD Retrieving and comparing biometric data from the files of 163 consecutive patients seeking cataract extraction by PCI (IOLMaster) and US (Sonomed). RESULTS...
متن کاملOcular biometry and central corneal thickness in children: a hospital-based study.
PURPOSE To investigate the distribution of axial length, anterior chamber depth, lens thickness, vitreous chamber depth, and central corneal thickness in children at different age groups. METHODS We studied 364 eyes in 182 children with ages between 1 and 12 years. Axial length, anterior chamber depth, lens thickness, and vitreous chamber depth were measured by ultrasound biometry. Central co...
متن کاملTwenty-four-hour change in axial length in the rabbit eye.
PURPOSE To study the 24-hour changes in axial length, lens thickness, and anterior chamber depth in rabbits and to examine the role of ocular sympathetic activity on these changes. METHODS Young adult rabbits were entrained to a daily 12-hour light-12-hour dark cycle. Axial length, lens thickness, and anterior chamber depth were measured using ultrasonic techniques. In the first group of 12 r...
